Job Description:

Flexible Hours: between 6am - 4:30pm. We are flexible with the right candidate. Open to part time or full time hours between 25-40 hours.

Wisconsin Homes Inc. is a family-owned business with over 55 years of success in building custom-designed homes in Marshfield with ~130 employees. We offer a rewarding and flexible work environment for a self-motivated individual that will support the HR Team and work closely with the Controller for payroll. The position's primary responsibility is managing weekly payroll processing, vacations, and benefit administration while applying fundamental labor law and company policies. Engage with employees and collaborate closely with the HR team and factory management.

Experience/Knowledge in:

  • Payroll Processing including state and federal compliance
  • Labor laws, payroll laws, FMLA, short term disability, workers compensation and leaves
  • Payroll and ERP Software: SAGE or similar system
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage time and attendance for employees on a daily/weekly basis
  • Process Weekly Payroll (direct deposit): Verifying accuracy in hours, pay, and deductions
  • Process deductions such as: Child Support, Insurance, 401k, etc.
  • Responding to employees on payroll and Time and Attendance questions
  • New Employee processing
  • Benefit Processing: Enrollment and deductions. Reconcile benefit invoices to deductions
  • Employee Separations: reconciling benefits, vacation pay outs, etc
  • Unemployment processing
  • Workers Compensation, FMLA, and Short-Term Disability processing
  • Vacation: track vacation accruals per union contract, progression tracking for probationary employees
  • Monthly tracking and year-end payroll processing: W-2s and 1095s
  • 401k annual Census
  • Annual wage increases
  • Interprets new legislation impacting payroll and adheres to best practices for the organization
  • Conduct review and analysis of payroll, benefits, and tax procedures
  • Maintains procedures to ensure adequate documentation of payroll exceptions for compliance

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • A minimum of an associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of computer software and payroll applications.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and/or Google Docs / Sheets.
