The Accounting Assistant contributes to the overall success of the organization by effectively managing and being responsible for all financial tasks for the organization. The Accounting Assistant will have a Degree in Accounting.
Primary Duties:
The Accounting Assistant performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:
- Manage all accounting operations based on accounting principles
- Knowledge with Medicaid billing
- Prepare budget and financial forecasts
- Publish financial statements in time
- Reconcile agency accounts
- Conduct month-end and year-end close process
- Analyze and summarize account information
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns, balance sheet, profit/loss statements, etc
- Develop periodic reports for management
- Audit financial transactions and document accounting control procedures
- Keep information confidential and secure
- Keep up with financial policies, regulations and legislation
- Representative payee
- Self starter, efficient, productive, works well with a team
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Fluid knowledge with QuickBooks
Payroll preparation and administration
- Oversee all payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner
- Process and submit statutory and benefits remittances on time
