Position: Payroll ClerkJob Description:The ideal Payroll Clerk will assist in all activities regarding the management of employee compensation at Forward Air. Experience in transportation services, distribution, or manufacturing is strongly desired.Core Responsibilities & Duties:Thorough knowledge of payroll processesProcess multi state payroll, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour lawsRespond to vendor inquiries and internal questionsRead source documents such as merchant applications, and enter data in specific data fields using keyboardsCompile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is enteredLocate and correct data entry errors, or report them to supervisorsCompare data with source documents, or re-enter data in verification format to detect errorsMaintain logs of activities and completed workDetail oriented and professional attitudeOther duties as assignedQualifications:Experience in transportation services, distribution, or manufacturing is preferredAbility to maintain highly sensitive and confidential informationHighly organized, strong attention to detailStrong work ethic, high integrityExcellent communication skillsKnowledge of reporting tools & other MIS toolsExperience with Microsoft Office, especially ExcelIntermediate Proficiency in MS Excel and MS OfficeKronos and Oracle EBS software a plusSkills:The ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethicInterpersonal skills necessary to build effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organizationStrong organization, prioritization, project management and consulting skill setGeneral computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, Kronos and Oracle EBSExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsForward Air is an Equal Opportunity employer.#INDAbout UsSince 1990, Forward Air has been a leading provider of ground transportation and related logistics services to the North American air freight and expedited LTL market.
