Description
The Payroll Clerk provides support to the Payroll Manager and ensures coverage for vacations or other times that the Payroll Manager is unavailable during payroll processing.
What You Will Be Doing to Support the Business Office:
* Answer queries from employees related to payroll
* Maintains payroll information by directing the collection, calculation, and entering of paper timesheets and electronic timecard data.
* Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
* Collect and summarize timesheet information for input into payroll processing system
* Process bi-weekly transfer of payroll data
* Record payroll activity in general ledger system

Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Demonstrated competence in computers and software including:
* proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
* use of Outlook and internet
* payroll processing and accounting software
* Exceptional customer service skills, including professional and pleasant telephone skills
* Strong initiative, organizational skills and ability to prioritize
* Strong math skills
* Previous payroll department experience preferred
* Ability to initiate and maintain efficient office procedures and filing systems
* Must work in cooperation with a team, present a pleasant and professional manner
* Valid MA driver's license with acceptable driving record and current proof of insurance
* Acceptable CORI and SORI background record check as required by program
