Reports to: Accounting Manager, Grow Public Schools Summary Description:The Payroll Clerk provides financial support and assists the Business Department in the business and accounting functions for schools in concert with our back office provider. The primary functions of this position include assisting the Business Department in general accounting and finance duties and responsibilities.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages semi-monthly payroll submittal for classified and certificated personnel.
- Work with the HR team on ensuring accurate benefit deductions and managing employee pay status during employee Leaves of Absence.
- Receive and distribute payroll checks for the Home Office team and coordinate with school site office personnel on the delivery and receipt of payroll during school breaks.
- Manage an ongoing list of stipends and bonuses that are paid out semi-annually.
- In collaboration with HR provide final wages for offboarding employees and ensure termination in our payroll system.
- Manages semi-monthly payroll submittal for classified and certificated personnel
- Works closely with office personnel at school sites and the Home Office to meet payroll and training deadlines and ensure employees have access to web clocks
- Works with our back-office support provider and payroll provider to ensure accurate employee data, including the verification of STRS deductions for certificated employees
- Assists in compliance with applicable federal and state employment regulations related to compensation
- Prepare and maintain and payroll documents and records to submit to the back-office providers.

- Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures.
- Basic data entry and/or word processing skills.
- Record maintenance skills.

- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Account balancing skills.
- Ability to use an automated accounting system.
- Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and practices.
Education and Experience:
- High school degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Experience with online accounting systems, Microsoft Office, and Google document platforms.
Work Schedule:Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMTemporary Assignment:This is a temporary position starting in November and ending in May.
