Moffatt & Nichol is actively searching for a Payroll Director to join our Corporate Human Resources Team. The Payroll Director administers the activities of US and international payroll function (recording hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating payrolls). The candidate will also ensure the generation of the company payrolls, including labor distribution records, vacation and sick leave accrual, overtime and withholding status. They will also meet all country reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholding and employer contributions. This position can be located near any of our US, UK, or Colombia offices. Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductionsPerforms a wide variety of activities in preparation, production and processing of international including computing wage, overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions, processing requests for paycheck advances, and processing terminationsOversees the processing of the US payroll through the national senior payroll specialist.Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay ratesPrepares and maintains accurate records, filing tax reports of payroll transactions.Tracks international and national labor distribution records, vacation and sick leave accrual, overtime and withholding statusAudits timekeeping records for compliance with established standards, maintaining time and attendance records, entering new hires into the payroll system, posting changes in pay and tax status, and miscellaneous changesBalances and controls earnings and deduction totals, calculating and preparing general ledger entries, inspecting automated system output such as registers and standard reportsDetermines and corrects out-of-balance conditions, preparing and filing tax reports, gathering payroll data for inclusion in financial statements, and researching and preparing special reports for managementCalculates and processes various types of pay such as military and jury duty pay, and processing garnishments and leviesDocuments and updates proceduresPrepares special reports for managementEnsures and meets all government federal, state, local (both national and international) wage and hour lawsManages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of all payrolls.Ensures accurate and timely processing of all payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay ratesMaintains employee payroll recordsFacilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and proceduresSupports global expansion and provides insight into third party vendors(s) to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance in multiple countriesManages Global Payroll teamOther duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California, New York City, Oregon, or Washington markets. Working conditions: Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
