We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee the payroll function at Noom. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with federal and state regulations, and providing a seamless payroll experience for employees. The Payroll Manager will work closely with the People Operations and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy, manage vendor relationships, and support the scaling of our payroll systems as Noom continues to grow. This position requires an in-office presence 1-2 days per week in our Manhattan office. What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and international employees, ensuring timely and accurate payroll runs.
  • Oversee all payroll-related compliance matters, including tax filings, W-2s, and audits.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to reconcile payroll accounts and manage payroll funding.
  • Maintain relationships with external payroll providers and tax compliance vendor, ensuring optimal performance and resolving any issues.
  • Implement and improve payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy as Noom scales.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, tax deductions, and benefits deductions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local payroll laws, staying current on any changes in regulations.
  • Manage payroll documentation and reporting for internal and external stakeholders, including HR, auditors, and government agencies.
  • Support ad hoc projects related to payroll, compensation, and benefits.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of payroll management experience, preferably in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • ADP / ADP Smart Compliance + Workday experience required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service orientation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and other data analysis tools.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.

Base Salary
  • The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000 - $145,000.
    • The range displayed on each job posting is based on Noom's estimate as of the date of publication and reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position across all US locations. The actual placement of the candidate within the range is based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, assessment of functional skills and behavioral competencies, and scope. This range is not inclusive of any discretionary bonus or equity package.
