Payroll Manager $67,000-70,000 per year We are looking for a committed and experienced Payroll Manager to join our finance team and oversee payroll operations for our agency. About our Company: STAR, Inc., is a non-profit located in Norwalk, CT that provides support services to adult aged individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities and their families for over 70 years. This takes many different forms but all with the same goal of improving the lives of those we serve. We help the individuals we support become the fullest versions of themselves through the values of inclusion, independence, and freedom of choice. A Day in the Life of the Payroll Manager: Our Payroll Manager is able to work independently and comes to work every day recognizing they play a vital role in our organization. Their work in making sure that all of our employees are paid timely and accurately allows our staff to focus their full energy on improving the lives of our participants. The Payroll Manager runs all aspects of the payroll life cycle from beginning to end all while ensuring compliance. Our manager works to ensure that bi-weekly payments are made to 200+ employees who range from salaried to hourly and full-time to per diem. Our ideal candidate has an incredible attention to detail by reconciling reports, maintaining appropriate journal entries and ensuring all deductions, contributions, reporting etc. are accurate. They will be able to follow up with appropriate department heads, managers and staff for any corrections or issues that arise. Qualifications for the Job:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and two years of payroll experience
  • Strong skills in Excel and Word.
  • Previous experience with Abilia & MIP is a plus.
