A manufacturing company in Illinois is looking to add an experienced Payroll professional to their team as their new Payroll Manager. In this role, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing systems to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll, including salaries, benefits, bonuses, garnishments, taxes and other items. Responsibilities: The Payroll Manager will be responsible for:
- Payroll compliance and government regulation requirements
- Third party payroll vendor relationships
- Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and other details for finance/accounting
- Preparing and distributing reports for management
- Providing leadership, development and direction for the payroll team
- Quarterly and end of year processing
- Partnering with site HR and the Total Rewards Team
- Retro calculations, along with payroll completion/settlement
- Continuous improvement, trouble shooting and projects
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of Payroll experience (U.S. & Canada and/or International)
- Associate's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
- Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Management role
- Strong knowledge of regulations related to Payroll Processing, Payroll Taxes, Garnishments and other Compliance issues
- Experience with Workday Payroll and/or Kronos
- Microsoft Office proficient (specifically Excel)
- Solid analytical, mathematical, and problem solving skills
