SouthernCarlson is seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Manager to join our HR team. This position is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of payroll and monitoring all wage payment processes to ensure accurate and timely multi-state payrolls and reporting for 1,500+ employees. This includes maintaining clean data in the HRIS and developing efficiencies within the system and payroll processing.
This role offers a hybrid work schedule 3 days working in the office and two days working for home.
What You Will Be Doing:
Lead and process bi-weekly payroll in Ceridian Dayforce ensuring completeness and accuracy of all data (includes but is not limited to regular wages, commissions, bonuses, pay changes, etc.)
Ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll processes by establishing and implementing new audit and quality control processes
Act as the subject matter expert and stay current on payroll systems, regulations, and labor laws impacting the payroll process
Troubleshoot and resolve payroll and timekeeping system issues promptly
Maintain system integrity and payroll accuracy by researching and staying current with state, federal and/or system updates regarding payroll and tax reporting in a multi-state/nationwide company
Prepare and analyze payroll reports to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement
Collaborate with payroll and HR team on transition of commission plans as needed
Work with Finance to maintain system general ledger integrity
Complete necessary HR and Payroll projects.
You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have:
High level experience in payroll systems, report building and Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel)
Minimum of eight years of experience processing multi-state payroll, experience with Ceridian Dayforce preferred but not required
Minimum of two years of experience in managing multi-state payroll
Bachelors degree in accounting, business administration or related field or equivalent experience
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to effectively communicate directions, deadlines, and expectations
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, positive attitude, flexibility and willingness to collaborate, and learn new proficiencies and systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze payroll data and make data-driven decisions
Competency to streamline payroll processes and drive operational improvements
Ability to pull, analyze and organize data into understandable reports that can be used across a broad spectrum of consumers
Capacity to deal tactfully and discreetly with confidential matters.
