Payroll Manager Job Summary:
The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing within the company, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Payroll Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing Management: Oversee the complete payroll process, including wage calculations, deductions, bonuses, and benefit allocations, ensuring all are processed accurately and on time. Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees and management.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:Ensure the company's payroll operations comply with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Stay updated on legislative changes and apply them promptly to company payroll policies and practices.
- Payroll System Management:Oversee the functionality of the payroll system, working closely with the IT department to troubleshoot issues, implement system updates, and ensure optimal system performance. Ensure data integrity and security within payroll software.
- Reporting and Analysis:Generate detailed payroll reports and metrics on a regular basis, analyzing trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement. Present findings and actionable insights to senior management to assist in decision-making.
- Team Leadership and Development:Manage, mentor, and support the payroll team by providing guidance, setting clear goals, and conducting performance evaluations. Payroll Manager Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience with payroll software systems and a deep understanding of payroll regulations.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations (federal, state, and local).
- Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
