As a leading agency in Western New York for over 71 years, we take pride in our mission and advocacy that builds and strengthens the entire community.Our Position: We are currently seeking a Payroll Processor for our corporate office located in Williamsville, NY to assist in the administration of employee payroll, systems processing, and/or employee relations. This position will involve:
  • Electronically responding to miscellaneous payroll inquiries from staff.
  • Distributing paychecks to staff and delivering live checks to the Post Office.
  • Maintaining various office records and ensuring confidentiality of all payroll and personal information.
  • Utilizing Microsoft Excel on a consistent basis for reporting
  • Compiling wage reports, processing payroll reductions, and reviewing employee timesheets for accuracy.
Our Schedule: Mon-Fri 7:30am- 4:00pm (40 hrs. per week)Our Requirements:
  • Associate's degree PLUS two years of payroll experience.
OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent PLUS four years of payroll experience.
PLUS
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (specifically Microsoft Excel)
  • Knowledge of financial accounting and record keeping practices, knowledge of office terminology and procedures, and computer and spreadsheet proficiency.

Backs up the Senior Payroll Processor keeping current with procedures. Reporting Relationship: Receives direct supervision from the Payroll ManagerJob Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Electronically responds to miscellaneous payroll inquiries from staff.
  • Responsible for the distribution of paychecks and taking live checks to the Post Office.
  • Maintains a variety of office records and completes various employment verification forms.
  • Maintains complete confidentiality of all payroll/personal information of individuals and staff.
  • Certified Wage Reporting monthly for NYSID contracts.
  • Responsible for agency generated payroll deductions (Delta, Regal).
  • Reviews staff timesheets for accuracy of hours, benefit time and managerial approvals.
  • Compiles Overtime reports to ensure that shifts/hours are costed and paid correctly.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of specific employee deductions and creating the corresponding check requests for Fiscal
  • Responsible for compiling and distributing quarterly benefit time accrual reports to the Fiscal Department and managers
  • Will continually work on cross training to develop skills within the Department.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:Associate's Degree PLUS two years payroll experienceOR High School Diploma or equivalent PLUS four years payroll experience.PLUSKnowledge of financial accounting and record keeping practices, knowledge of office terminology, procedures; computer and spreadsheet proficient. Ability to follow oral and written directions and prepare correspondence, reports, and other materials. Strong Microsoft Excel skills are preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality.A valid NYS Driver's licenseAgency Principles:

  • Equipment Operation: Proficient in the operation of the computer, copier and fax machine.
