Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage the weekly payroll processing for approximately 110 employees across two states. This role involves adjusting timesheets, calculating all tax, benefits, and union deductions, processing garnishments, commission payments, bonuses, and more. Additionally, the Payroll Specialist will assist the CFO with various accounting projects, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth within the company.

Description of Duties:

  • Process weekly payroll for approximately 110 employees in two states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Adjust and verify timesheets to ensure accurate calculation of hours worked and applicable deductions.
  • Calculate and process all tax, benefits, and union deductions.
  • Handle and process garnishments, commission payments, and bonuses.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end payroll-related activities and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to ensure seamless integration of payroll and benefits information.
  • Support the CFO with various accounting projects and tasks as needed.
  • Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries and issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficient in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Growth-oriented mindset with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
  • Familiarity with union payroll and related deductions.
  • Experience assisting with accounting projects.
