Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. (Loureiro) is seeking a Payroll Specialist to add to our team in Plainville, CT. This is a great opportunity to join an experienced, supportive and talented team of professionals who truly care about the people we hire.
Responsibilities- Oversee and manage the payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely distribution of pay.
- Maintain payroll system and records, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor and reconcile payroll accounts, including managing deductions, taxes, and other withholdings.
- Work with ADP to prepare and submit required payroll reports to government agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with HR and finance departments to ensure accurate employee data for payroll processing.
- Implement and maintain payroll policies and procedures, providing training and support to team members.
- Respond to employee inquiries and resolve payroll-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Manage year-end processes, including the preparation and distribution of W-2s and other tax-related documents.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure the companys payroll practices are compliant.
Requirements- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience; professional certifications
- 2-5 years of experience in payroll administration.
- Prior experience with Union payroll is a plus.
- Prior experience with ADP is a plus.
Physical Requirements- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
- Able to push, pull, and place materials on level surfaces and overhead cabinets.
