Howden Tiger is the global reinsurance broker and risk, capital, & strategic advisor focused on relentless innovation & superior analytics for top client service. About RoleKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures payroll detail is accurate, updated, and complete for payroll, including but not limited to:
  • Verifies calculation of timecards for non-exempt employees for assigned employee groups.
  • Ensures all employee changes for assigned employee groups into HRIS are accurate.
  • Responsible for balancing assigned payroll and troubleshooting payroll issues.
  • Reconciles all payroll gross by by pay period.
  • Prepares reports from WorkDay and third-party providers as requested by management.
  • Processes Bonus and ad hoc payrolls as required.
  • Monitors the time and attendance system. Looks for missed punches and communicates discrepancies or issues to managers and employees as appropriate. Ensures absences are properly paid.
  • Regularly audit attendance and paid time off records for non-exempt all employees for assigned employee groups, correcting balances as necessary.
  • Liaising with the third-party providers to ensure payment of all relevant taxes and benefits are made in a timely and accurate way, supporting with any queries as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within Workday Payroll including testing where required.
  • Work with the benefits provider to ensure the timely and accurate feed of all benefits data in and out of Workday and support any continuous improvement required.
  • Assists with audit requests.
  • Keeps abreast of the payroll processing system and changes in wage/tax laws and applies changes as appropriate.
  • Support with general enquiries from employees (e.g. tax, pay slip).
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Serve as Tier 1 support for payroll NA inboxes.( research and respond to employee inquiries) - escalate to Manager as needed.
  • Support in Payroll tax account management registration cleanup with ADP Smart Compliance.
  • Serve as processing backup for primary processors to allow flexibility in PTO management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of two years' experience in payroll processing, 5-6 years professional experience
  • Experience with Workday Payroll Software & ADP is preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)/ Fundamental Payroll Certification desired
  • Strong knowledge of US federal and multi-state payroll and tax legislation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, strong Excel skills.
  • Effective interpersonal communications skills with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
  • Ability to work across various time zones during payroll processing.
  • Ability to adapt to an everchanging work environment and stay solution oriented
