Our client, Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative located in Wahpeton, North Dakota, has a career opportunity within the HR department for a highly motivated, hands-on individual as their Payroll Specialist. This position is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for 450 employees on a regular basis, and up to 900 employees during harvest season. Additional duties include reviewing and approving timecards, processing W-2's, managing all garnishments, child support orders and benefits elections in the payroll system, and accounting for retirement contributions for submittal to the vendor. The Payroll Specialist will also be responsible for working with HR to calculate and process final pay in accordance with state and federal law. Additional support may be needed with implementing payroll software updates/upgrades and assisting with administrative tasks to support the HR Manager and others within the company. Qualifications include an Associate or Bachelors degree in Accounting with 3+ years processing payroll for a large company. Expertise with managing payroll, quarterly and year-end payroll processing, and administration of the payroll element of benefits and retirement plans is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, time management and the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, proficiency in Excel, and computer skills are essential to this position. Experience working in Kronos and UKG is a plus.
