Job Description:

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing employee payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and addressing payroll-related queries. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in payroll administration, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information.

Compensation: $25-$27/hr

Availability: This role is set to be part-time (20 hours per week) during the traditional work hours, Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm and will be temporary.

Job Duties:

  • Process payroll for employees across multiple departments, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Maintain payroll records by calculating wages, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any payroll-related inquiries or issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and stay updated on any changes in tax laws.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports (e.g., quarterly/annual tax reports, labor costs, etc.) to management as needed.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure all employee data (new hires, terminations, salary changes) is accurate and up-to-date in payroll systems.
  • Manage and process timekeeping systems, ensuring all employee hours are recorded and accounted for.
  • Process and submit tax payments, benefits contributions, and garnishments.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting related to payroll expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Must have experience with Xenium/PrismHR.
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Administrator, or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes and regulations (FLSA, tax compliance, etc.).
  • Experience with payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills for handling sensitive issues with discretion.
