Job Description:
Position Description: The Payroll Specialist will have a comprehensive understanding of payroll practices, including tax withholdings, state allocations, compliance, and benefits. The Payroll Specialist will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company's weekly and bi- weekly payroll and will be instrumental in conducting various payroll- related tasks. $55k - $65k Requirements
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate processing and recording of the weekly and bi-weekly payroll.
  • Perform payroll reconciliation, identify, research, and resolve variances and payroll-related issues
ensuring corrections/adjustments are processed to correct identified errors.
  • Continually improve and streamline payroll processes for optimum efficiency.
  • Provide Monthly and weekly ad-hoc reporting for various internal departments.
  • Assist with payroll compliance matters such as multi-state/multi-jurisdiction tax withholding, and annual
  • 401(k) audits, workers, compensation, and external financial audits.
  • Provide training and instructions to employees and managers on the utilization of payroll-related
systems.
  • Perform weekly audits to ensure the accuracy of timecards utilizing a timekeeping system.
  • Process special transactions (e.g. retroactive pay, vacation payout, garnishments and/or manual
checks, etc.).
  • Research, analyze, and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Respond to inquiries from managers and employees promptly.
  • Provide backup support during staff absences.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.

Working Conditions:
  • Works in an office/home environment.
  • He or she may spend long amounts of time sitting down.
  • May be required to walk up and down the stairs.
  • May be required to work evenings and/or weekends as job duties require.
