We are proud & honored to provide these services.Overview of position:FEDITC is seeking a Payroll Specialist to work in a hybrid position in the San Antonio TX area. A United States Citizenship is required to be considered for this position. Primary Responsibilities
- Process employees' and 1099s' payroll timely, accurately, and compliantly.
- Reconcile payroll with Labor Journals prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Process employee data (new hires, changes, additional earnings)
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits; Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
- Monitor submission of timesheets of all employees; Review and ensure accuracy of approved timesheets.
- Assist employees in registering for or resetting access to online timesheet portal.
- Complete commission reports on semi-monthly basis; Reconcile and issue payment of commission
- Understand all aspects of payroll regarding payroll laws and regulations
- Liaise with accountant regarding auditing; Evaluate and enter the resulting journal entries
- Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.)
- Research and email appropriate audience of file issues
- Other support duties as needed/directed
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 - 2 years of payroll experience.
- Must have an overall understanding of accounting and some exposure to management reporting systems.
- Must be extremely detail oriented.
- Must be able to work under tight deadlines, with flexibility.
- Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information and issues with the upmost discretion.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and apply those skills with both internal and external customers.
- Must have excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Experience with SharePoint is preferred.
Education:
- A college degree in a related field is preferred but not required
Clearance:
- Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.
