Position Details: The Payroll Specialist supports the Senior Payroll Manager in managing day-to-day payroll functions for the firm. Responsibilities include coordinating, inputting, processing, verifying, and reporting payroll processes. This role involves maintaining accurate employee data for tax setup, direct deposits, and other payroll-related information. The Payroll Specialist will respond to employee inquiries and provide support to Human Resources and other business leaders as needed. Supervisor: Senior Payroll Manager Location: New York / Miami / DC In office arrangement: 3 days in office a week Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sr. Payroll Manager to process payroll for all U.S. offices, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
  • Support global payroll processing as needed
  • Provide customer support to employee inquiries which includes calls from management and employees pertaining to their pay/deductions, enrollments etc. and provide timely response
  • Ensure the accuracy of payroll data, including benefit changes, 401(k) contributions, profit-sharing programs, and employee status changes (hires/terminations)
  • Assist in identifying potential issues within the payroll process, escalating concerns appropriately and through proper communication channels
  • Make recommendations to improve payroll process efficiencies and help execute solutions
  • Conduct independent reviews of all Payroll processing prior to confirmation to ensure accuracy of pay
  • Perform system input of Federal and State tax setup as requested for new or existing employees
  • Provide support to Human Resources and other team on payroll related issues as needed including data reporting
  • Participate in special projects and other payroll related responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-8 years of related experience, with expertise in US payroll systems and processes
  • Strong understanding of payroll taxes (such as income tax, taxable benefits), workers compensation, and legislation related to payment of salaries and wages
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP); international payroll experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Experience with payroll software and systems, with experience in HRIS Systems preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Flexibility to adjust work hours to meet operating and business needs
The salary range provided below applies to the position in New York. The salary may vary for Miami and DC. At the time of posting, the salary range for this role in New York is $71,000 (minimum) - $100,000 (maximum). This range is based on a full-time work schedule. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus. The successful candidate's actual salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, training, skills, and market data.
