To thrive as a Payroll Specialist at Behr, you should be detail-oriented, proactive, and possess a strong understanding of payroll processes and timekeeping systems. Your role will be essential in ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and efficiently, while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for inputting and auditing payroll data, compiling related reports, and supporting the payroll department with various tasks. You will play a key role in managing and reporting employee timekeeping data, preparing payroll reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Essential Functions:
- Payroll Data Management: Input and audit payroll data accurately, ensuring that all entries comply with company and legal standards.
- Timekeeping Support: Assist department and UKG users in maintaining and reporting employee timekeeping data. Run and distribute UKG exception reports weekly or as needed.
- Agency Reports: Run, distribute, and audit temporary reports and timecards, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Off-Cycle Pay Requests: Run, audit, and submit daily Off-Cycle pay requests through our parent company, Masco, ensuring timely and correct payments.
- Payroll Reporting: Prepare, assemble, and distribute weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Audit and Compliance: Perform various payroll-related assignments, including self-auditing and auditing the work of others to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Confidentiality: Always maintain the confidentiality of payroll records and private company information.
Job Qualifications: - A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Some payroll and/or timekeeping experience is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Proficiency in using computers to access, enter, review, and update computerized records and reports.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and complete work according to schedule, meeting department deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to complete assignments.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to check and verify the accuracy of payroll entries and records.
- Experience in compiling operational, program, or activity data for reports.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of payroll records and sensitive company information.
