Reporting to the Director of Accounting & Finance, the ultimate goal of this role is to be responsible for all payroll processing, payroll reporting, and payroll general ledger transactions, as well as payroll audit related deliverables at Little Sprouts and all subsidiaries. Ultimately, this role will ensure employees are compensated correctly and on time. Salary commensurate with experience; between $65,000-$85,000/year. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Review payroll information for accuracy and ensure all relevant paperwork is in order.
- Coordinate with HR with regards to any changes in payroll (i.e. terminations, new hires, promotions).
- Oversee electronic bi-weekly payments and distribution of payroll direct deposits and checks through Paylocity (MA, NH, VT, and CT payrolls).
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll related general ledger transactions.
- Update data with salary and/or wage adjustments.
- Process other financial compensations or deductions (i.e. annual bonuses, severance pay, taxes, and worker's compensation).
- Prepare and review monthly benefit expenses, such as insurance fees and paid leave.
- Answer employee questions or complaints about salaries and payments.
- Provide analysis as requested by members of the senior management team, including function-specific monthly reporting (i.e. YTD payroll by employee/location, monthly payroll FTE counts per location, annual 401K audits, among others).
- Interacts with management from within and outside of the Finance department to respond in an accurate and timely fashion to inquiries related to the group's activities.
- Work with authorities on audits or requests (i.e. annual auditors, IRS, among others).
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, payroll taxes, and deduction laws.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or relevant field.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred but not required.
- Multi-state payroll experience preferred but not required.
- Efficiently and process improvements into Payroll.
- 5+ years experience in payroll administration for high volume with 1,000+ hourly employee organization.
- Good working knowledge of GAAP required and IFRS a plus.
- Experience with technical accounting research, evaluation and documentation.
- Above average system skills - preferred experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 365, Paylocity or ADP, proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to roll up sleeves and be proactive to obtain needed information.
- Excellent verbal communication skills required for communicating issues and providing concise, thoughtful updates to senior management.

- Solid technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
How It Gets Done:
- Is able to work at least a full-time, 40-hour a week schedule, sometimes off-hours as the business requires (i.e., deadlines, networking events, conferences, business dinners, etc.).
- Is able to sit for long periods of time at a computer in a primarily sedentary position; manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Limited travel may be required (less than 10% of time).
- This is a hybrid role (3 days onsite in the beautiful Mill Buildings of the Riverwalk District in Lawrence, MA). This individual may work remotely up to 2 days a week.
