Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG) is searching for an experienced Payroll Specialist to execute and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for HPMG and Pacific Permanente Group (PPG).This individual performs end-to-end payroll processing and will serve as a systems administrator for payroll-related functions. This position requires the ability to work onsite at 711 Kapiolani Boulevard (Honolulu, HI) periodically to support payroll operations. JOB DUTIES
- Executes end-to-end bi-weekly payroll operations and processing for HPMG and PPG employees and ensures compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Leads and serves as a systems administrator for payroll functions, providing support for time and attendance system access, conducting system upgrade testing, and troubleshooting issues.
- Manages and processes data imports and timely Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions.
- Maintains payroll records, generates reports, and conducts data audits.
- Handles all payroll inquiries and resolves discrepancies of varying complexities.
- Actively collaborates and coordinates with Human Resources and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Trains and provides end-user systems support for the enterprise time and attendance system (i.e., OPT Workforce).
- Stays updated on payroll regulations and best practices.
- Performs other essential duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of automated payroll experience.
- Previous experience with an enterprise time and attendance and payroll system.
- Previous UKG and OPT Workforce experience is highly desired.
- Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of payroll systems administration, processing, and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional mathematical and calculation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot payroll issues and concerns and takes the initiative to correct issues within authority is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment while meeting short deadlines, and the ability to plan, prioritize and organize work.
- Ability to make independent judgments and decisions as it relates to the payroll processing.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel with working knowledge of pivot tables, filters, etc.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills while supporting employees at all levels.
- Must be flexible and available to support payroll processing as required, which may include working during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The salary range for this position starts at $84,800.Compensation is commensurate with qualifications.
