values The Payroll Specialist is responsible forensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees at McKinley This role requires strong knowledge of the UKG HRIS system or similar HRIS system as well as an in depth understanding of payroll regulations tax laws and compliance requirements Compensation and Benefits The pay range were offering is 2800 3100 hourly depending Accounting Human Resources Finance or related field from an accredited institutionCertified Payroll Professional CPP designation is preferred but not requiredA minimum of 3 5 years of experience working with UKG is preferred but not required3 5 years of payroll processing experience including handling multi state payrollStrong knowledge of payroll laws and compliance including FMLA and garnishment lawsProficient in managing 403B transactions and payroll tax requirementsExperience with bank reconciliations and general ledger entriesFamiliarity with accruals PTO Sick leave etcAdvanced knowledge of payroll best practices and proceduresAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesStrong attention to detail and analytical thinkingProficiency in using payroll software systems and Microsoft Office Suite Google and ExcelSubject matter expert in the UKG systemor similar HRIS systemMust pass pre employment physical exam TB and drug screeningAbility to commute to various Insurance Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact for managing UKG software in regards to payrollManage end to end payroll operations from data collection to final disbursementCalculate and incorporate payroll adjustments such as overtime deductions and benefitsAccountable and responsible for all aspects of payroll production for both employees and clientsAccurately key in all payroll related data necessary to process and meet payroll schedulesVerify payroll totals and ensure the accuracy of all calculationsManage and process semi monthly payroll for all employees ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal state and local lawsOversee and maintain the UKG HRIS system ensuring data integrity and troubleshooting any system issues related to payrollProcess 403B transactions and ensure timely contributions to employee retirement plansHandle multi state payroll tax filings reporting and complianceManage timecard entries and resolve discrepancies in hours worked overtime and leave balancesReconcile payroll related accounts including bank reconciliations and general ledger postingsMonitor and apply FMLA laws ensuring compliance with leave policies and accurately tracking time offCalculate and manage payroll deductions including garnishments and benefit contributionsGenerate and review payroll reports for discrepancies or errors and address any inconsistencies promptlyAssist with the development of payroll procedures and process improvementsRespond to payroll inquiries from employees providing excellent customer service and resolving issues efficientlySupport the HR and Finance departments with payroll related projects and analysis as neededEnsure timely submission of year end reports including W 2s and other required tax formsServe as the primary contact for payroll related inquiries from employeesPromptly respond to and resolve employee questions and payroll related
