Job Summary: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all payroll and payroll tax processing of the organization, in accordance with Company and industry policies.Incumbents in this role work closely with management, Human Resources, and Finance to ensure the successful execution and recording of the full-cycle payroll process Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Payroll Processing:
- Processes Semi-Monthly payroll, manual checks, stock options, and other quarterly bonus payrolls.
- Reviews address changes and associated tax changes.
- Reviews and imports pay data for awards, gifts and non-cash taxable earnings.
- Tracks relocation amounts and reports earnings through payroll.
- Processes garnishments
- Understands proper taxation of employee benefits and ensure accuracy.
- Processes check requests for quarterly worker's compensation payments.
- Assists Benefits Specialist with administration of benefit deductions and process over payments/missed deductions.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Maintains all payroll records and payroll reports confidentially.
- Downloads quarter end and year end reports for review (i.e., W-2's, Taxes, etc.).
- Manages unemployment reporting.
- Oversees the completion of Federal, State, and Local Tax and monitors for compliance.
- Reviews and analyzes correspondences received from state agencies.
- Provides data for quarterly and annual compensation surveys to approved vendors.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Researches and resolves payroll problems/employee questions.
- Coordinates efforts between Human Resources, Finance, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
- Provides the finance department with changes to deductions and other payroll information to ensure accuracy for the general ledger.
- Assists Human Resources Specialists with processing employment verifications.
- Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Knowledge & Other Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant experience is required.
- Two years of experience with multi-state payroll processing or California processing experience is a plus.
- Experience in ADP Smart Compliance, UKG, Workforce Management (WFM for timekeeping) strongly desired.
- Experience Analyzing and Reviewing data in an HRIS system.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Thorough understanding and demonstrated experience with payroll tax regulations at the federal, state and local levels.
- The ability to prioritize and process payroll accurately within deadline.
- Strong analytical skills to review and interpret data. Problem solving skills.
- High degree of professionalism to interact with employees at all levels.
- Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information and matters.
- Strong communication skills to relay information to Employees.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:
- Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading.
- The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Compensation: At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions.The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $66,000.00 to $80,000.00. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs. Base salary is one part of the overall compensation package, which includes the opportunity to participate in employee stock purchase programs and performance-based bonus programs.
