The Payroll Specialist provides administrative support and assists in the daily operations of the Payroll department. The successful candidate will play an integral role in processing bi-weekly Payroll in Workday and maintaining employee database and files.

Job Qualifications
Education:
* High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
* Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC), or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
Experience:
* 1 -2 years of processing multi state payroll experience required; Workday experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
* Strong knowledge of basic payroll, tax, and wage laws
* Strong knowledge of Excel, including advanced functions
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Proficient in payroll software programs (Workday experience strongly preferred)
* Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material or Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with data and sensitive materials.
* Knowledge of multi-state payroll laws (California experience preferred)
* Excellent knowledge in implementation, custom reporting, and production problem resolution for Payroll
* Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines
* Strong attention to detail and organization ability
* Solid verbal and written communication skills
Essential Functions:
* Process payroll for over 2,000 employees in the organization
* Prepare periodic payroll reports, compile key operational payroll metrics
* Prepare manual checks, as necessary
* Assists with the development and implementation of payroll practices, policies, and procedures
* Support year end activities including W2 validation and distribution
* Accurately coordinates, administers, and maintains weekly and bi-weekly payroll activities, including time and labor entry, processing of tax documents, and ensuring compliance
* Other duties may be assigned as necessary
