Position Description: Payroll Specialist The Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting with the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for multiple business entities in a timely, accurate, and confidential manner.
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Processing new hire / Onboarding documentation and ensuring all required information is captured and complete.
- Processing personnel action forms ( PAFs ) for all employee status changes including compensation changes, W4 changes, promotions, transfers, terminations, etc.
- Assisting payroll coordinator in addressing and responding to employee inquiries relating to payroll items such as, but not limited to; pay stub detail, paid time off, timecard detail, and direct deposit information.
- Collaborate with payroll and HR departments for FMLA, LOA, and Cobra tracking and maintenance.
- Assist payroll and HR departments with the annual open enrollment process
- Reviewing payroll information for reasonableness and accuracy.
- Maintaining confidential records and information.
Qualifications preferred: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of Associate's degree in a related field required
- 1 + years of payroll experience.
- Experience working with Paychex or similar payroll / HRIS systems.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, mainly Excel and Word
