Sweetwater, the nation's number one online retailer of music instruments and pro audio gear, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our growing Finance team! The ideal candidate will have experience processing employee payroll, ensuring accurate and timely disbursements, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and assisting with payroll and finance-related tasks. In this position, you will act as a liaison between Payroll and HR, assisting with payroll functions, processing , and answering employee questions, correcting any processing errors, and assisting with annual audits.

Job Responsibilities

* Administer accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including salaried, hourly, and commission-based employees.

* Calculate overtime, bonuses, and deductions as applicable.

* Participate in auditing of bi-weekly payroll

* Verify and reconcile timesheets, employee hours, and PTO/vacation balances.

* Manage pre and post payroll reporting distribution

* Manage and approve employee loans

* Assist with completing and processing payroll taxes at the employee level and quarterly tax reconciliation between ADP and Workday.

* Assist with completing payroll reconciliation

* Monitor and manage HSA & 401K funding and management

* Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll issues, questions, and discrepancies.

* Address concerns regarding pay discrepancies, tax withholdings, and benefits.

Qualifications

* Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and payroll software.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, QuickBooks etc).

* Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented mindset.

* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

* Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).

* 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or a related field.

* Certification as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
