Payroll Specialist Duties:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 200 employees using Paylocity.
- Handle multi-state payroll, ensuring compliance with varying regulations.
- Accurately calculate hours, overtime, PTO, deductions, and bonuses.
- Stay updated on payroll regulations and register for state tax accounts as needed.
- Prepare payroll tax reports, W-2s, and other documentation.
- Maintain and verify employee payroll records, including benefits deductions and PTO accruals.
- Update payroll software with accurate employee information.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Operate Paylocity to process payroll and generate reports.
- Recommend improvements to payroll processes for efficiency.
- Collaborate with HR and finance for payroll reporting and onboarding.
- Participate in month-end closings and perform reconciliations.
- Provide backup support for accounts payable and receivable as needed.
Education and/or Experience:
- 3+ years in an accounting or payroll-related position
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Experience with multi-state payroll or unionized workforces is a plus
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Paylocity)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Understanding of GAAP accrual accounting standards
