Work ethic and strong prioritization skills are important.xAI is looking for a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for our growing organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processing systems, including Rippling or similar platforms, and will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll Processing:

* Process payroll on time, ensuring all employee records are accurate and up to date.

* Manage and reconcile payroll data, including salary, deductions, and benefits.

* Handle payroll tax calculations, filings, and payments in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

System Management:

* Utilize Rippling or similar payroll processing systems to streamline payroll operations.

* Assist in the setup and configuration of payroll systems for new hires and terminations.

* Troubleshoot and resolve payroll-related issues, providing support to employees and managers.

Compliance & Reporting:

* Ensure payroll practices adhere to all legal requirements, including worker's compensation, unemployment insurance, and other statutory obligations.

* Prepare and submit payroll-related reports, including quarterly and annual filings.

Employee Support:

* Address employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions, fostering a positive work environment.

* Assist with the annual payroll calendar, including month-end and year-end processes.

Data Integrity:

* Implement checks and balances to ensure the accuracy of payroll data.

* Maintain confidentiality of all payroll and employee information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or relevant experience.

* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing.

* Strong experience with payroll processing systems, understanding their functionalities and best practices (Preferably Rippling)

* Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal payroll laws and regulations.

* High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and numerical proficiency.

* Proficient in GSuite or Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

* Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.

* Certifications like Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar are a plus (not required).

Additional Requirements:

* Position is subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing.

* Available to work evenings or weekends if needed.
