We're seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our accounting team. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing payroll processes, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting our valued employees.   • Consistently process payroll transactions both timely and accurately, demonstrating sound subject knowledge
  • Timely and accurate payment of payroll taxes and accounts payable transactions
  • Accurate recording of journal entries with necessary supporting documentation
  • Perform reconciliations based on established schedule, researching reconciling differences and ensure timely correction.
  • Participate in project work and as assigned
  • Develop, demonstrate, and apply knowledge of relevant systems
  • Provide assigned coverage (weekly, monthly, etc.) to maintain working knowledge of other department responsibilities.
  • Timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly and annual technical accounting responsibilities.
  • Support the documentation of the theories and reasoning for current processes.
  • Maintain adequate financial controls for all accounting responsibilities.
  • Focus on proactive customer service to both internal and external customers
What You Will Bring
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
    • Or 1 year of experience in accounting
  • Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possesses verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills
  • Possesses multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Ability to understand Central Insurance's policies and processes
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access and analytics software (i.e. Power BI)
  • Strong math skills and the ability to work accurately with figures
  • Possesses excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred
  • Prior payroll experience
