What You'll Do
Summary/Objective:
Manage the processing of weekly payrolls for all divisions/CUSOs within the Credit Union and monitor all tasks necessary to accomplish the Credit Union's payroll processing objectives including: audits, compliance, vendor relationships, state and federal law.
Essential Functions:

* Assist in the training, onboarding and mentoring of the Payroll Team.
* Backup for processing weekly payroll and CUSOs.
* Maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws to ensure that payroll remains in compliance. Advise and consult on best practices related to multistate taxation/payroll compliance.
* Maintain proficiency in the core payroll modules within UKG.
* Serve as primary resource to the Payroll Team and employees regarding payroll processing, resolving payroll issues and/or discrepancies for all areas of the Credit Union.
* Facilitate management and employee understanding of payroll policies and procedures.
* Serve as subject matter expert on payroll related special projects, core payroll modules and tax compliance.
* Partner with Finance for journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end GL entries and invoices to record payroll and benefit expenses.
* Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (reporting for HR Budget and Success Share, value of taxable fringe benefits, year-end vacation accruals, year-end salary accrual and reconciliation, etc.).
* 401k Administration: serve as backup for full recordkeeping, prepare data for semi-annual and annual Non-Discrimination Compliance testing, prepare compensation and employee data used for processing company-wide Discretionary Contribution and True-Up match and verify required minimum distributions.
* Assist in performance appraisal process by helping to audit salary increases imported into payroll and review and comprehend audit reports.
* Take the lead on payroll related requests for all HR related audits: provide requested documents and reports for numerous audits including internal and external auditors, NCUA, Workers Compensation, 401k, payroll and benefits.
* Perform additional tasks as required.

What You'll Need
* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
* 5-7 years of previous payroll experience, working in an HR Department
* 1-3 years of supervisory experience
* HCM experience with UKG a definite plus!
* Certified Payroll Professional preferred
