Overview
The Payroll Supervisor will be responsible for the Time and Attendance of the Payroll Division. This position will directly supervise seven (7) Payroll Technicians and two (2) Agency Temps that are responsible for all time-management related functions for their assigned departments.
Responsibilities
* Directly supervise seven (7) Payroll Technicians and two (2) Agency Temps that are responsible for all time management related functions for their assigned departments
* Train all Payroll Technicians
* Complete annual Performance Evaluations
* Conduct quarterly reviews with staff to assess performance
* Collaborate with and support City Departments
* Ensures Departmental compliance with City policies
* Assesses Departmental training needs
* Servies as the liaison between the Finance Department and City Departments
* Validates and tests changes to the Payroll, Absence Management and Workforce Management Modules
* Conduct New Employee Orientation (NEO) Training in coordination with HR
* Performs Time Evaluation and Time Transfer Processes
* Evaluate errors and ensure appropriate corrections take place
* Coordinates and assists the Payroll Section with the off-cycle payment process
* Monitors, transfers and corrects payroll interface files with Third Party Systems
* May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
* Non exempt - Full-Time
* Non rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree (BA/ BS)
* Minimum of (5) five years of experience
Licenses and Certifications

* A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
* Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance

Basis of Rating
A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
