The Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority is seeking a Payroll Support Specialist to accurately process the Authority's payrolls for full and part-time employees.
Areas of Responsibility
* Perform detailed work with numerical data and mathematical calculations, rapidly and accurately.
* Process ABC payroll on a timely and accurate basis while ensuring all payroll responsibilities are performed in compliance with federal, state and Authority guidelines and policies. This includes, but is not limited to regular pay, VSDP and W/C pay, temporary pay entitlements, pay dockings, recognition awards, bonuses, transcripts, on call pay, call back pay, military leave, pay increases, partial pays, retroactive pays, court ordered withholdings, taxes and employee data.
* Process ABC Fringe Benefits on a timely and accurate basis while ensuring all payroll responsibilities are performed in compliance with federal, state and Authority guidelines and policies. This includes but is not limited to healthcare, life insurance, retirement plans, commuting charges, and third-party insurances.
* Maintain and process ABC Timekeep system including corrections to timesheets, maintaining leave balances, reconciling and correcting discrepancies.
* Ensure accuracy and audit discrepancies of pay, benefits and leave processing.
* Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of payroll records; keeps accurate and up-to-date human resource/payroll files, records, and documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
* Working knowledge of payroll, leave and VSDP/Workers' Compensation processes and procedures
* Working knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act
* Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and procedures
* Ability to make mathematic calculations rapidly and accurately.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze fiscal transactions for compliance with payroll procedures and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
* The position requires an associate's degree in business, accounting, or a related discipline, and/or equivalent work experience.
* Experience with the Commonwealth of Virginia's payroll processes is a plus
