Job Description:

Payroll Tax/Benefit Manager

The Payroll Tax / Benefit Manager will oversee all Payroll Tax and Benefit Processing. This will include set up of Tax tables and all Benefit Tables. This position will also be the main contact with ADP and Trion (benefits administrator) for all processing related to taxes and Benefits. A high level of Customer Service is expected of all positions within the HRIM and Payroll Services Department.

Summary:

The timely and accurate processing of all Payroll Tax Reconciliations, Filings, Deposits and Reporting for Approximately 120 FEIN's and all related State and Local jurisdictions.

Biweekly reconciliation of Payroll Processing and include Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Reconciliations of all Companies

Identify procedures to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local withholding and unemployment insurance laws. Constant review of procedures to ensure compliance with appropriate employment tax law.

Research employment tax law for situations including predecessor and successor transfer of wage basis and experience rates, compliance with withholding and unemployment tax reporting responsibilities for federal, state, and local jurisdictions, and other employment tax related issues.

Correspond with federal, state, and local taxing authorities concerning disputed penalty and interest assessments.

Maintain ADP and PSoft system set up tables for processing of new Companies, State and Local withholdings.

Liaison with other departments within the organization including Accounts Payable, Treasury and Accounting departments concerning tax payments and reconciliation of all Payroll taxes.

Respond to requests for employment tax information from other departments and facilities, including research of employment tax law and providing historical tax information for current and predecessor entities.

Prepare tax returns and ensure continued compliance with federal, state, and local withholding and unemployment insurance laws. Maintaining documentation to support tax filings.

Maintain spreadsheets for various tax returns, and answer all correspondence related to Payroll taxes.

Coordinate with IS department needed changes to current tax reports as well as needs for any new tax reports.

Assist in testing of tax updates to PeopleSoft tax system and MasterTax.

Responsible for accurate and timely production of Federal forms W-2.

Communicate any recent tax law changes and provide staff with materials for continuous professional development.

Reconciliation, Auditing, and reporting of ACA (Affordable Care Act).

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

2+ years Payroll Tax Management experience preferred

Health Benefits and Payroll experience

ADP and PeopleSoft experience preferred

Knowledge of state, local and federal tax remittance and filing procedures.

Must have demonstrated experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
