Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system and is accredited by the Joint Commission.ESH invites applications for the position of PAYROLL TECHNICIAN (Admin Office Specialist III).This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely payment of employees, overseeing the complete payroll process, including calculation, preparation, processing, and reconciliation. Key duties include handling payroll for both classified and hourly employees, validating leave balances for classified staff, and ensuring correct payments for employees participating in the Virginia Sickness & Disability Program during short-term or long-term disability periods in support of ESH's vision, mission, and values.Minimum Qualifications
- Experience or some education in Accounting / Finance may substitute for experience is required.
Additional ConsiderationsPreferred qualifications:
- Experience in automated payroll and leave accounting system.
- Experience in general office procedures with emphasis in payroll operation using spreadsheets & system generated reports.
- Experience with ADP, timekeeping or other automated payroll and timekeeping system.
- Experience with Commonwealth Cardinal HCM system.
