Conducts such duties to support instruction as delivery of small group instruction, taking classroom notes, assisting students to and from class settings, redirection of students to tasks, implementing behavior management plans, monitoring students at all times, maintaining confidentiality of students. May use computers in performing assigned tasks. Reports to assigned Special Education Teacher(s) and/or principal. Duties may be specialized to area of instruction, type of students, etc.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides classroom teaching assistance such as reinforcing skills, monitoring classroom behavior; administering make-up tests, etc.
- Assists student with academic instruction and classroom activities font-size: 12pt >Prepares and disseminates materials for students' use during classroom activities.
- Sets up classroom for special activities as assigned, including the preparation of classroom materials for students.
- Adjusts special equipment for students use as needed
- Accompanies class on field trips as required.
- Ensures the safety of the students in the classroom.
- Performs other related duties as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:Conducts duties in a classroom environment with no significant exposure to environmental conditions. Physical demands may require lifting/moving of a student.
