Job DescriptionWe are looking to hire a staff member to assist our Forum and Conference Service team.Job Description/DutiesOpen the Forum building and rooms for events, including setting up chairs and tables.Checking room setups and client needs before and during events.Make beverages and put out supplies and catering items.Clean and restock serving supplies.Provide customer service to clients, including troubleshooting AV equipment issues, completing any last-minute client requests.Tech support for audio visual equipment as needed by clients.Cleaning, sweeping, mopping back room and spills, and taking out trash/boxes after events.Monitoring safety and maintenance needs within the building.Other related duties as assignedJob RequirementsRequired Education:High School Diploma (GED)Skills:Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periodsAbility to lift objects (15-50 lbs.) including using the upper body to raise objects from a lower position to a higher positionAbility to crouch, crawl, bend, or stoopAbility to walk and be on feet for extended periods of time and go up and down stairs/ladderAbility to speak including expressing oneself or exchanging information with othersAbility to see color, depth perception, and clarityRegular exposure to disagreeable conditions at time with extreme temperature changes, odors, and loud noisesStrong written and oral communication skillsFood handler's permit must be acquired within 5 days of employment.Advertised Physical Requirements:Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periodsAbility to lift objects (15-50 lbs.) including using the upper body to raise objects from a lower position to a higher positionAbility to crouch, crawl, bend, or stoopAbility to walk and be on feet for extended periods of time and go up and down stairs/ladderAbility to speak including expressing oneself or exchanging information with othersAbility to see color, depth perception, and clarityRegular exposure to disagreeable conditions at time with extreme temperature changes, odors, and loud noisesDiversity Statement:The University of Oklahoma is committed to achieving a diverse, equitable, and inclusive university community by recognizing each person's unique contributions, background, and perspectives.
