Summary: The Cosmetologist is responsible for providing quality, professional service in the administration manicures and pedicures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Discussing nail services and treatments with clients
- Removing nail polish
- Exfoliating and removing rough skin from the hands and feet
- Cutting, cleaning, buffing and shining nails
- Pushing back and cutting cuticles
- Massaging clients' hands, feet and calves
- Applying wraps, artificial nails, polishes and nail art
- Interacting with other members of the salon and spa team as to provide seamless customer experience
- Adhering to the highest standards of sanitation, which includes cleaning and sanitizing tools and equipment
- Advising clients on their haircare needs
- Creating hair styles for formal events
- Analyzing clients' hair, facial features, and needs, and determining/recommending beauty treatments
- Styling and dressing hairpieces, extensions, and wigs
- Maintaining an appointment calendar through scheduling
- Demonstrating and selling styling products
- Learning and perfecting new styles and techniques
- Maintaining and updating client records
- Shaving and trimming beards and mustaches, and sideburns
- Waxing eyebrows and facial hair
- Trimming, cutting, and shaving hair using clippers, scissors, trimmers and razors
- Maintaining work stations and sanitizing equipment
- Applying chemical setting, straightening or curling solutions
- Using curlers, rollers, hot irons, and curling irons
- Applying hair color, dye, and tints
- Administering therapeutic scalp and hair treatments
- Preforming scalp, neck and face massage
- Applying hot towel treatments
- Recording and updating client records
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with The Peaks Resort standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
- Comply at all times with The Peaks Resort standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the facilities including ensuring facility/amenities are in proper working order.
- Provide Spa tours as necessary.
- Promote and sell spa merchandise
- Check appointment schedule and print daily activities as required as well as complete daily reports.
- Ensure inventory control through proper usage of products.
- Maintain passing scores on treatment inspections.
- Assist with front desk or locker room functions, as necessary.
- Attend meetings/training as required by management
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Supervisory Responsibilities: The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience: - High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Fulfillment of current State licensing requirements.
- 2-years experience in nail and hair care preferred.
- 1-year spa experience required.
- Knowledge of additional therapies desired.
- Bi-lingual preferred.
- CPR Certification preferred.
- Maintain current licenses and certifications as required.
