Department/Unit: Children's Hospital STAT RNs

Work Shift: Night

The pediatric clinical support nurse (CSN) provides leadership and expert consultation to patient care services staff in the Children's Hospital while also having direct patient care responsibilities. The CSN teaches and supports staff to develop their patient care skills and helps manage complex patient care situations. This role also requires communication and collaboration with the care team to ensure the best outcomes for the patient.

• Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in specialty nursing
• Manage complex patient and system-related issues
• Assist staff in developing clinical skills and problem-solving in complex patient care situations
• Teach and support staff in initiating access and managing intravascular therapy
• Provide direct care in selected complex patient care situations

Education/Experience:

• Current NYS Nursing license; BSN preferred
• Pediatric/Critical Care certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of recent acute care clinical experience in Pediatrics
