The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai affiliated with Elmhurst Hospital Center, serving the culturally diverse community of Western Queens, is seeking a full-time BC/BE Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician.
Elmhurst Hospital Center is part of the NYC Health + Hospital public hospital system, with over 120,000 ED visits annually. It is a tertiary care, major teaching hospital, serving one of the most diverse patient populations in the USA. The hospital has a catchment of over one million people in the borough of Queens. Elmhurst is a level 1 trauma center, a STEMI center, a thrombectomy capable stroke center, a center of excellence for the treatment of sexual assault victims, with 14 fellowship programs and 30 accredited residency programs (in conjunction with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai).
The Pediatric Emergency Department sees approximately 35,000 patients per year in a recently renovated, family friendly, self-contained unit separate from the Adult Emergency Department. It is staffed by pediatric emergency medicine and pediatric attendings, pediatric nurses, residents, medical students and a pediatric nurse practitioner. There are a wide variety of opportunities for program development and academic advancement both at Elmhurst and Mount Sinai in the areas of trauma, simulation, quality & safety, global health and medical education.
Successful applicants can receive dual faculty appointments in Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. Candidates should be Board Certified or Eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine and possess a valid New York State license and DEA. Experience in leadership roles and program development is preferred for faculty positions. We offer opportunities for professional and institutional growth.
