Applications are invited for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology in the Department of Pediatrics of Albany Medical College and the Bernard and Millie Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Med Health System. We are seeking an outstanding pediatric gastroenterologist to join a comprehensive clinical program dedicated to the care of children and adolescents who have gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and/or nutritional disease. Board eligibility or certification in pediatric gastroenterology is required.
The division currently consists of 4 full-time physicians, a part-time physician, two pediatric nurse practitioners, 3 full-time nurses and a part-time dietitian. We have the support of outstanding adult gastroenterologists, diagnostic and interventional radiologists, pathologists, pediatric surgeons, behavioral therapists, social workers, and child life specialists. We perform the majority of our procedures in an outpatient endoscopy unit within Albany Medical Center and have anesthesia support for all our cases. We perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, esophageal pH (including BRAVO) and impedance studies, video capsule endoscopy, and anorectal and esophageal manometry studies. We are the major tertiary referral center for 25 counties, and provide comprehensive GI care for infants, children, and adolescents within our large catchment area. Albany Med Health System is a large academic Medical Center in Albany, New York, the state capital. It is a level I Trauma Center and the regional hub for all adult and pediatric specialties. The Bernard and Millie Duker Children's Hospital, which houses a 60 bed NICU, 19 bed PICU, and a pediatric emergency department that opened in 2018, is the site of inpatient care rendered by the division. The Assistant Professor salary range is between $215,000 and $225,000. Salaries for higher ranked faculty would be available upon discussion.
