The Department of Pediatrics Division of Hematology-Oncology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks a board certified/eligible Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist to serve as a full-time faculty member at the assistant/associate professor level. Candidates must have expertise and interest in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, gene therapy, and other cellular therapies.
The Division has comprehensive programs in oncology, neuro-oncology, AYA, stem cell transplantation, gene therapy, sickle-cell disease, and hemophilia and thrombosis with excellent opportunities for participation in clinical/translational research. The Division is an integral part of the University of Miami's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center providing significant opportunities for collaboration within existing programs in tumor biology, epigenetics, cancer control, translational and clinical oncology, among others.
The faculty member will have demonstrated both clinical and scholarly expertise in pediatric hematology-oncology and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently as part of collaborative groups as well as contribute to translational and clinical research.
Duties include providing direct patient care to pediatric patients at the 250-bed Holtz Children's Hospital at Jackson Memorial Medical Center and Alex's Place at UM's Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and clinical and/or translational research at the NCI-designated Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
