Job Description:

An education network in New York is currently seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their team at one of their schools in Westchester County. In this role, the Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for providing expertise in conducting formal and informal functional assessments, consulting, advocating, and supporting, as well as designing and developing treatment plans and interventions that meet the individualized needs of students.About the Opportunity:

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Assignment Length: Ongoing
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8:15am to 4:15pm
  • Setting: School
  • Patient Population: Students with- heavy Autism, IDD, with concurrent behavioral challenges
  • EMR: Azimuth SIS

Responsibilities:The Occupational Therapist (OT) will:

  • Conduct comprehensive formal and informal assessments and reassessments of a student's occupational performance capabilities
  • Utilizes a variety of treatment approaches that are safe, creative and individualized to a particular student's needs, monitoring their progress
  • Ensure that each student's progress is holistic, integrated, and takes into account each student's progress and developmental needs
  • Proactively maintain communication with students, family members and/or other care givers as appropriate to effectively address student progress, development and emergencies, as needed
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports as required
  • Participate in clinical and activities to advance field knowledge and engages in activities to remain at the forefront of professional development and advancements
  • Remain up to date on clinical matters, to maintain best in class knowledge of evaluation, intervention, and areas under his/her responsibility
  • Perform other assigned duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • NYS Occupational Therapist (OT) license

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with students with Developmental Disabilities or on the Autistic spectrum
  • Previous experience in a School setting
