Job DescriptionNemours Children's Hospital, Delaware is hiring a Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner. This full-time position offers the APP the opportunity to work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, consultants, nurses, and other health care providers, dedicating their specialized work to patients on the psychiatry service. Patients range in age from 6 to 21 years with acute and chronic illnesses of mild to moderate complexity in outpatient settings. Requirements
  • Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Pediatric experience
Qualified candidates must have the ability to be self-directed and flexible as a team member. The ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team and adapt to a rapidly changing clinical environment are critical. Strong communication skills with team members are essential. Psychiatry APPs will:
  • Have a full panel of patients with psychiatric needs ages 6-21 years of age in an outpatient setting completing comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, developing and executing ongoing treatment plans, including medication management and coordinating care with relevant disciplines and services.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in educational functions of the department (e.g. didactic teaching, precepting trainees, consultation with primary care)
  • Participate in relevant enterprise-wide initiatives and committees.
  • Assist with coverage of Consult Liaison Service primarily through at-home call weeknights and weekends and, when needed, daytime service as instructed by department leadership. Weeknight and weekend call is compensated separately.
