The Radiologic Technologist role is an opportunity for an x-ray tech to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the physician's direct supervision. This position maintains effective working relationships with all customers, including patients/families, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors.DescriptionJob Responsibilities:Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operationsObtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intakePrepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safetyObtain quality diagnostic radiographs as requested by physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistantsEnsure that all equipment is in good working condition and in compliance with applicable laws and regulationsMaintain and document daily quality control of radiology equipment at the start of shiftDocument repeat exposures and parent holding log with pocket dosimeter readAssist in radiology quality assurance program for radiography equipmentImmediately report any equipment malfunctions to management teamHelps patients in distress by promptly notifying medical staff of emergenciesPerform collection of throat and nasal specimens and process samples for testingAssist in processing of laboratory testing of patient samples and routine QA testingApply splints, ace wraps and DME devices on patientsProvide patient with crutches and proper use educationBe an integral part of the patient care teamKeep exam and x-ray room stocked with adequate suppliesContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededMaintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management teamMaintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and proceduresMaintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulationsEnhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and challenging requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentsAssisting patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when needed#IND123QualificationsGraduated from Radiologic Technologist programKnowledge of medical practice and terminology, clinic's processes, and proceduresAbility to use sound reasoning and judgment and act calmly in emergenciesAbility to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverballyKnowledge of digital imagingKnowledge of electronic health records (eCW preferred)Compensation:$30 - $40/hourThe salary/rate range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary/rate for this role. Please note that actual salaries/rates may vary within this range above or below, depending on experience and location.
