Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Takes histories, performs physical examinations, and prescribes treatment and medication for conditions falling in the scope of his /her specialty following evidence-based standard of care.
- Provides off hours and hospital coverage for Health Center patients where contractually obligated to do so.
- Designs and participates in quality improvement activities, including Medical Record Peer Review, performance and procedure audits, outcome audits, and focused reviews.
- Provides supervision for clinical activities of medical providers and medical documentation in his/her department, including but not limited to review of protocols, telephone triage, follow-up procedures.
- Coordinates tests, referrals, and care of SRH patients outside the Health Center.
- Sets standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening within his/her specialty; participates in the development of programs to carry out these standards.
- Maintains legible and appropriate documentation of medical records.
- Participates and attends provider meetings.
- Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.
Minimum Education Requirement:- Doctorate Degree M.D. or D.O.
- Valid License to practice medicine in New York State
- Board Certified or Eligible
