Job Description:

Salary range for full-time/part-time openings is $243,275.00- $353,483.00. Potential premium earnings are up to $19,728.00. Salaries are inclusive of incentives depending on skills and competencies and geographic location. Potential premium earnings are based on location. Annual Salary is determined by longevity with the Group and full time equivalent (FTE) work schedule/effort.

PRIMARY LOCATION: USA-CALIFORNIA-ANAHEIM (ORANGE COUNTY)

Opportunity to join an established pediatric Infectious Disease clinical practice comprised of inpatient consultations/rounding, ambulatory clinic, antibiotic stewardship, infection control, and virtual medicine. Pediatric Infectious Diseases (ID) at Southern California Permanente Medical Group currently consists of 8 Pediatric ID specialists across the Southern California region. Together, we care for the KP Southern California population which currently spans 4.8 million members and over 1 million pediatric members.

We are recruiting a full-time Pediatric Infectious Disease specialist to join our group in Orange County (OC). KP Anaheim Medical Center is a designated specialty medical center in the Kaiser Permanente Pediatric care (KPPC) network. At OC, we serve as the primary center of care for the diverse pediatric population in Orange County. Our services include a pediatric ward at the Anaheim hospital and NICUs, well child nurseries, and emergency departments at our Anaheim and Irvine hospitals. We place great emphasis on fostering a strong culture of collaboration and support among pediatric medical and surgical specialties not only within OC but also across the KP Southern California region. In this position, the OC Pediatric ID physician will work collaboratively with our Pediatric ID physician at our Downey Medical Center. The Downey Medical Center is one of three tertiary medical centers in the KPPC network with PICUs. Our medical group utilizes telemedicine and our regional electronic medical record when appropriate so that specialists can work from their home facility while supporting the regional patient population when on-call.

We play an active role in training the next generation of physicians both in teaching resident physicians and as a designated clerkship site for the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine. We also have a robust research infrastructure within KP Southern California with opportunities for internal research grants.

Potential clinical roles include:

  • Outpatient consultation and follow-up care
  • Inpatient consultation and rounding
  • Infection control/prevention, antibiotic stewardship
  • Providing virtual medical care
  • Physician-physician advice via telephone and electronic advice communication tools
  • Shared call schedule with other KP pediatric ID physicians
  • Opportunity for mentorship and clinical teaching of KP School of Medicine students and Pediatric Residents.
  • Regional pandemic planning, electronic medical record (EPIC) based ID decision support tool design, regional reference lab/microbiology.
  • Participation in regional ID conferences sharing best practices, challenging patient discussions, amongst other regional initiatives.

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Infectious Disease
