Responsibilities:

The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Peer Recovery Specialist will participate as a member of the Early Intervention and Support Services team. Specifically, the SUD Peer Recovery Specialist will focus on the co-occurring population, providing education and support to assist individuals towards their recovery.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Person must have lived experience related to a mental health or substance use concern as well as be able to identify steps that have advanced his/her own successful recovery. 2. Person must have one of the following: a. Paid work experience in a mental health or substance use disorder setting; b. Volunteer experience in a mental health or substance use disorder setting; c. A completed or in process of completion Peer Recovery Specialist Certification. 3. A NJ Drivers License with capacity to drive a hospital vehicle is preferred for this position, but it is not a requirement
