Description RBH is now offering sign-on bonus opportunities for qualifying professionals!The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking full time and part time Peer Recovery Specialists to join our new Crisis Receiving Center Team. The successful candidate will perform intermediate skilled human support work involving the assessment of client needs and providing access to needed and appropriate services including treatment, rehabilitation and service linkage, case monitoring and client advocacy functions, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the assigned Program Supervisor.
- Provides support through the transportation-encouragement-role model.
- Facilitates group meetings; composes minutes for meetings.
- Supervises and schedules support associates.
- Develops wellness recovery action plan with consumers; develops a plan of care appropriate to the evaluation with the client/family consensus; assists clients in developing recovery goals.
- Provides and administers medications to clients.
- Monitors and assesses clients mental health status; provides supportive counseling as needed.
- Provides crisis intervention services.
- Arranges and provides transportation for clients to appointments, grocery stores, offices, etc; takes clients on social outings.
- Provides documentation of services; provides group notes; maintains medical records.
- Develops staff and client schedules.
- Attends training and team meetings as required.
Position Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with providing peer recovery support is preferred.
- Must have a valid Virginia driver's license.
- Must self-identify as either a current or former consumer of substance use services, or a person recovering from a substance use disorder.
- Must be maintaining a healthy recovery lifestyle
- CPRS Preferred
